So I know I am a little behind on this but hey it's better late then never!
For Thanksgiving the school had a little Thanksgiving feast. They had all the kids make Pilgrims hats and everyone brought something for the menu.
For one week the school the school had literacy week where they kids spent most of their time reading and either a parent or older sibling came in and read a book to the class. One day they were able to wear the PJ's to school and spent the entire day reading. They built a worm that started at the front of the school and for every book the students read they added a part to the worm. They made it all the way around the school!
So last Sunday Kyle and I took Iggy and Jewels for a ride and we went down to the river! I finally found a peacefully/beautiful place in Mesquite. The little one LOVED IT and are demanding that we go back every weekend!
What a week. SheShe has been in town all week from Texas and Kyla has been loving every minute of it. Probably because she has been getting spoiled! From the moment their feet hit the ground in the morning they were on the go. They went to the park, put makeup on, played dressed up, danced, cooked cupcakes, (some how during th cupcake process poor Iggy ended up with batter all over him), and who knows what else they did all day long. All we know is that they both were ready for bed pretty early every night.
We carved pumpkins one of the nights she was her and had a blast doing it. Kyla loved cleaning out the pumpkins so needless to say she got to clean out almost all the pumpkins.
Last week Kyla lost her first baby tooth and like everything in her life it was pretty dramatic! First she was all upset that she lost it but then we explained that if she puts it under her pillow when she goes to bed the tooth fairy will bring her money! Every girls dream..... Wake up in the morning and find money under our pillow! Well not for Kyla. The next morning when she looked under her pillow and found some money and lip stick she was not a happy camper. She wanted to go hunt down the tooth fairy and get her tooth back, because it belongs to her and she just couldn't believe that the tooth fairy took it. Well after a few days she gave up the search and started to except the fact that she is never going to get her tooth back!
First off please ignore the first posting of Kyla's school program I hit post some how!
Are little priness had her very first school program and I have to be honest we were a little worried at how she would do, but she did amazing!
From the moment Kyle and I arrived she couldn't keep her eyes off of us. She kept telling everyone one there is my daddy and Tiffanie with the biggiest smile ever, and through out the entire program she would stop and wave and blow us kisses.. Up until the last two songs she did really good about keeping her focuse but any hour and half later what 5 year old isn't going to lose intersest.
If you go to youtube and search ktgillespie13 you will be able to see her in action.
Okay so this is probably a little lame to blog about but I can't lie I am pretty proud of myself. this summer I decided that I was going to take up sewing. Most people start with simple little projects but not me! I decided to do a jelly roll quilt. You are probably thinking what is that. Well you get a roll of about 60 strips of fabric and you have to sew them one by one on a piece of fabric. Well about 4 month later and many of choice words and hair pulling my quilt is FINALLY DONE!
True diva. This summer was the first time she has ever had the good old fashion pink spung curlers in her hair and now that is her new favorite thing. I honstly think she is the only little girl Iknow that will ask for them, and getting her to take them out is a whole other story.
Playing a little dress up.
Iggy & Kyla. He is the only one brave enough to ride around with her.
Out on the town doing a little shopping. Phone in one hand and purse open ready to go in the other one.
Kyla is 5 going on 16. She thinks she needs to have her hair done just perfect everyday along with some makeup, lipstick and high heels. We have had a blast with her this summer. From swimming, running threw the sprinklers, cruzing the neighborhood in her hot wheels to just sitting around the house.
Kyle and I just got back from California and we had a blast. We went with 2 different couples! We went to the Dodgers vs Astro baseball game. We sat in the middle of the Dodger section where Tiff had a Astro jersey on and, man did the comments flow. We sat right by the Astro's bull pen and after the closing pitcher finished warming up he gave Tiff his ball. Oh and did I mention that the Astro's kicked the Dodger's butt!
After that we headed to San Diego to watch a little more baseball! We to the Padres vs Rockies. Then it was off to the beach. The water was so stinking cold so Kyle would only put his toes in but don't worry I got all the way in. After about 10 minutes or so my body was so numb that I thought the water was warm HAHA...
We just moved to Marshall TX and found out we are expecting. Baby G is suppose to do here April 17th, 2011 and we can't wait. We are ready to find out if we are having a boy or girl because we want to start buying stuff. And yes I mean us. Kyle is already buying all kinds of little Texas outfits. Kyla just started 1st Grade this year and seems to be enjoying it. We are so proud of her and how well she is doing. She is going to be a great big sister to Baby G
